OUR STORY
A friendship that
became a
mission
Creative Healing Counseling & Wellness Center was born from a shared belief — that therapy should meet people where they are, use the languages they already speak, and serve communities that deserve exceptional care.
Founded in 2015, we've grown into a practice that serves all ages, all stages, and all walks of life.
Our mission is to provide therapeutic and wellness services to children and families that help bring them to a place of awareness in which true healing, integration, and self-discovery are present. We believe that everyone has the power and capability within themselves to discover the resources, supports, and tools that best meet their needs; our staff act as a guide and partner along your journey.

2015
THE BEGINNING
One
Alyssa Simmonds and Nefertitti Towns-Scott first crossed paths as school social workers in the same district — two professionals who cared deeply about children, families, and communities. Their paths diverged professionally, but their friendship and shared values never did.
In January 2015, they turned that friendship into action. They founded Creative Healing as a private practice rooted in the belief that healing doesn't have to look like a traditional therapy session. For children especially, connection happens through play, art, movement, and music — not just words.
With combined experience across school and outpatient settings, Alyssa and Nefertitti built a practice that understands the full picture of a person's life — home, school, community, and everything in between.

Lyle Wallace, LSW
THERAPIST
Lyle brings more than 20 years of experience working with teenagers and families across a wide range of settings — and in that time, he's built a reputation for doing something that sounds simple but is anything but: making clients feel genuinely seen, heard, and empowered. His approach is multi-systemic and deeply personalized. Lyle draws from Person-in-Environment (PIE), Solution-Focused Therapy, Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy (CBT), and elements of Hip Hop Therapy (HHT) — a dynamic, culturally responsive framework that meets teens where they actually live, think, and feel. At the core of everything Lyle does is a belief in his clients' potential. He works alongside teenagers and families to uncover their unique strengths, confront the obstacles in their way, and build the skills they need to move forward — together.
